NNAS Bronze and Silver Certificates

The bronze course develops your map skills using linear, handrail features to help you successfully navigate. We look closely at the detail of the map and use it to ensure you know exactly where you are at all times. Basic compass skills are also introduced.

1 day – training and assessment – £55

The silver course includes navigation in the countryside using skills acquired at bronze level and adding skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks, accurate compass work is required and an ability to use appropriate navigational techniques to go across country in some cases, eg. choosing an appropriate attack point.

1 day – training and assessment – £65

A2Z Adventures can also provide navigation courses for young people as a registered Young Navigator Award Scheme provider.

Young people can work through the Bronze, Silver and Gold star awards and gain an award which is nationally recognised by the Royal Institute of Navigation, Mountain Training and British Orienteering.

These courses are part classroom/part outdoor, and our experienced instructors will be on hand to assist even the complete navigation novice!
